Setting up the App Store

The Apple App Store integration brings your app reviews into Pleased as tickets, so your team can read and reply to them without logging into App Store Connect. Replies you send from Pleased sync back to the App Store.

New and updated reviews are imported automatically every 30 minutes.

Before you begin

Generate API access in App Store Connect and have the following to hand:

  • Your Apple .p8 private key file
  • Your Issuer ID (App Store Connect credentials)
  • Your Key ID

If you cannot generate these, ask your App Store administrator.

How accounts, apps and brands fit together

Set up around your Apple account structure, not your Pleased brand structure.

  • One App Store account containing several apps — you only need one integration. Choose which apps are enabled inside Pleased.
  • Several App Store accounts — create one integration per account.

Step 1 — Connect the account

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Select Channels, then App Store.
  3. Select Add App Store Account.
  4. Enter:
  • Brand — the brand that should own the resulting tickets
  • Account Display Name — how this account appears in Pleased
  • App Store Connect Credentials (Issuer ID)
  • Key ID
  1. Upload your .p8 key.
  2. Select Next. Pleased verifies the credentials.

Step 2 — Choose which apps are enabled

After verification, every app linked to the account is selected by default.

Deselect any app whose reviews should not create tickets, then select Save.

You can change which apps are enabled at any time without removing the integration. Only enabled apps send reviews into Pleased.

Working across environments

The same App Store account can be connected to more than one Pleased environment, for example staging and production.

Note: Apple provides no sandbox for reviews. Any testing has to be done with live production reviews — bear that in mind before replying to a real customer from a test workspace.
